  I took a large painting, that I was getting ready to sell, to get a quote on shipping. A price I directly give as the price to the buyer. The gentleman at the counter measured it, weighed it, put figures into the computer and quoted me 130$. I even asked if that was the total price and he said yes. Fast forward 3 weeks and I take said painting down, again, to actually ship it. Different gentleman at the counter measures it, weighs it, puts his figures into the same computer and quotes me 180$. No difference in delivery location or preferences on coverage. Oh, and then after I have discussion with both gentleman that were working regarding the previous quote of 130$, they did not offer to honor the quote. I explained I brought the painting down to get an accurate quote because the buyer pays for shipping and packing. They did not care. Oh, and then tax was added to bring my grand total of 221$! This isn't the first painting I have shipped, and it definitely won't be the last . . . UPS has lost my business over this. I took the painting back and will going Fedex. I'll update on what Fedex charges me later this afternoon.
